Since Luca was completely engaged with his cars and racetrack, Sergio and I had fun with Sophie. Sophie got a vanity from Santa, something she had wanted last year, to put her play make-up and jewelry. Santa also gave her log blocks with fairies, small baskets, cakes and tiny fairy silverware and dishes. We had fun playing together.
Annie didn't wake up until 7:30.
Sergio and I had a wonderful Christmas morning and enjoyed spending it in our home with our little ones. Afterwards, we went up to Colorado Springs and spent the day with my mom, sisters, aunt, uncle and cousin. My mom and sisters cooked yummy food---blueberry pancakes for breakfast, mushroom and pizza appetizers in the afternoon, followed rack-of-lamb, potatoes, corn and spinach salad. Of course, in between the food, we found time to eat cookies and have a few drinks.
It was so nice that my Uncle Dave and Aunt Linda and cousin Ryan came to spend Christmas with us this year. My Uncle Dave was my dad's best friend since college, they married sisters. Having my Uncle Dave there, made it feel as if my dad was just in the next room or getting wine downstairs. Of course, I have a heavy heart, that it wasn't so, but having all my family together, really made my dad feel present.
