Today I told Sophie Nana and Papa were flying home. She has been crying all day long that she wants to see Papa now, then it's Nana now. It's funny, she never says Nana and Papa, it's always one or the other and it seems to alternate, morning was Papa, afternoon was Nana.
Anyway, Sophie said---"I want to fly like a peacock".
I couldn't help but laugh so hard at this little thought, maybe it was too early, maybe my coffee hadn't kicked in, maybe it was because Sophie decided to crawl into bed with me at 1am and talk and play with my hair, anyway it was so funny looking at things through Sophie.
My mom called Sophie from the airport and after Sophie heard Nana's voice, she couldn't understand why Nana wasn't coming to her house now. The dogs barked at the door and Sophie said, maybe it's Nana.
Sophie loves her grandmas. She goes to sleep at night listening to Belita (her Tico grandmother) on CD and doesn't understand why Belita doesn't come out of the radio.

It is so hard to have grandparents that live so far away! Our parents (kids' grandparents) are all in California so it is difficult every time they leave! Whenever Matt hears about "Grandma," he signs airplane and says, "go!" Makes me wish they lived across the street sometimes!
