Sophie's First Birthday

A year ago on a Friday evening, Sergio and I went to the hospital and Sophie was born Saturday morning just before 9am. She has changed from a round and solid plump 8 lbs. 2 oz baby to a one year old boarding toddlerdom. We know Sophie is becoming more of a toddler and less of a baby when she crawls on top of the table, up the stairs, walks confidently with helping hands, cruises around the furniture and stands by herself for a moment.

As she enters this new phase, we enjoy seeing her personality unfold and hang on to each new word and discovery Sophie makes. Sophie now says words like ado (adios), ma (más), by by (bye-bye), dog (for dogs and all other animals), duck, hot (all foods and things that may or may not be hot), mama, na na, papa, up (for getting up and down), book, bath, baba (baby), nana (banana), ocks (rocks), ba (ball) and everyone’s favorite, nonono!

Some of Sophie’s favorite likes are…• Bath time
• Playing outside on her play set
• Going on the carousel and train at City Park
• Dogs (especially, Saddie, Rosie, and Macky)
• Ice cream
• Blueberries and bananas
• Dancing to music
• Friends
• Cherrios with milk
• Reading books

Sophie’s dislikes, while few, are…• Getting her diaper changed
• Going to bed

Thanks for being a part of our lives and we look forward to this coming year with Sophie.
